What system is the plastic mold structure mainly composed of?
The plastic mold structure is mainly composed of the following five systems:
1. Molding system
Forming system is the core part of plastic mold, including cavity and core. The cavity is the cavity filled with plastic material in the mold to form the external shape of the product, and the core forms the internal shape of the product. These two parts are usually made of high-strength steel to guarantee stability and wear resistance during injection molding. The design of molding system directly determines the dimensional accuracy, surface quality and structural properties of plastic products.
2. Pouring system
The pouring system is responsible for directing the plastic melt from the injection molding machine nozzle to the mold cavity. It mainly includes a main flow way, a diversion way, a gate and a cold feed hole. The main channel connects the injection molding machine nozzle and the diverter, and the diverter distributes the plastic melt to each gate. The gate is a narrow channel connecting the diverter and the mold cavity, which controls the flow rate and direction of the plastic melt. The cold hole is used to collect the cold material at the beginning of injection molding to prevent it from entering the cavity and affecting the quality of the product.
3. Ejector system
The ejector system is used to ejector the molded plastic product from the mold. It is mainly composed of thimble, ejector rod, top plate, reset rod and other components. The thimble and ejector rod directly touch the product and push it out of the mold cavity; The top plate indirectly ejects the product by pushing the core or cavity; The reset rod is used to reset the top plate and other components before clamping.
4. Cooling system
The cooling system is responsible for controlling the mold temperature to ensure the molding quality and production efficiency of plastic products. It is usually composed of cooling water channels, water pipe joints and temperature control devices. The cooling water channel is distributed around the mold cavity, and the heat of the mold is taken away by circulating the cooling liquid. The water pipe connector is used to connect the coolant source and the cooling channel; The temperature control device is used to precisely control the mold temperature.
5. Exhaust system
The exhaust system is used to discharge the gas when the plastic melt fills the cavity to avoid defects such as bubbles and burning on the surface of the product. It is usually composed of exhaust grooves, exhaust holes, etc., and is designed in the parting surface, core and cavity of the mold.
The above five systems are interrelated and interact with each other, which together constitute the complete structure of the plastic mold.
